Making Resolutions

I welcomed in the brand new year by falling asleep right after midnite! Oh well....I am not the party animal I used to be.

It is also that time of the year to make new resolutions. I, quite honestly, totally suck at doing this. I never write them down, so I conveniently forget them...lol. So I thought I would jot them down here. Let's see if this will work or not!

1. WEIGHT LOSS: I want to lose 20 lbs. this year. I think this is an easy amount that can be achieved with simple and easy tasks. Yes, I know, I need to lose more, but I don't like setting myself up for failure. Achieve a simple resolution and anything else I would lose is just icing on the proverbial cake!

2. SCRAPPING: Oh this one should be easy! Yeah right! I decided I was not going to get in on the hubbub of the Project 365. If I have a chance, then I will take an appropriate picture. What I decided to do was to keep a diary. I am jotting down things that happen in the news and what happened in our daily lives here. Like I said on a message board, I want to leave the grandkids and such a written document of life in 2009. Anything can be newsworthy in my mind...lol. I also want to do more challenges (thanks Sweet Shoppe for doing them daily!), both digitally and paper scrapping. I am going to use up my supplies that are just sitting there in bookcases in the scraproom. I have already started making more cards.

3. CLEANING: I am going to get better at scheduling my cleaning of the house. I am not Martha Stewart. I accept that. But I can schedule things better so I have more time during my days off.

4. ORGANIZATION: Again, organization is not my strong suit. I am doing all this by baby steps. First I need to purge things AGAIN! I love lists...just never look at them again. This will change!

5. ENJOY LIFE: This is the most important resolution. I want to enjoy all that life has to give. I am afraid I get lost in the day-to-day schtuff and forget to have fun. I want to take photography classes. I want to learn to bake bread the old-fashioned way.

these are my resolutions for the year 2009. I think they are simple enough to achieve and fulfill. Time will tell.

Till later my blog friends.

Just Where Have I Been?????

Hello everyone!! I have definitely won the bad blogger award!!!! Nothing since July?!?!? So much has happened ... I am just glad to be able to scrap again!

What has happened?

Back in mid-August, Roger had the stroke. Luckily (and I do thank God everyday) that it was what the doctors called a "good" stroke. I had no idea there was such a creature... a good stroke. His balance and equilibrium is still off, even now. We have a neurologist appointment in January, 2009 and hopefully we may be able to find some new information then.

John is being his normal self as is Ryan. Ryan is still working full-time at Walmart. I can only guessitimate that he is still loving it!

Suzanne and Josh are doing awesome. In fact, my wonderful daughter has nabbed a spot on the Elemental Scraps Creative Team!!! WooHoo!!!!

Me? Not much. I am finding my scrapping mojo. I thought I had lost it for good. I was burned out and now I am enjoying the creativity! I wanted to scrap some cards today, but alas....not a chance. We had some extremely heavy rains and, lo and behold, our basement flooded and part of my scraproom. Papers are airing out now as we speak! In fact, we have several fans drying our basement out.

Just for showing off...here are some of my attempts at some Christmas cards this year. A couple of them are hybrids, using Tracy Ann Digital papers and Baers Garten designs! Thanks for looking and I promise I will keep this better updated!!

If anyone is actually reading this...thanks for sticking around with me! I am planning on sticking around!!!

Well....Again I waited till Saturday to post!

Here it is Saturday again! A slow week, but everyone in the house is starting to feel icky. Of course, not John. If he was ever home....then he might get sick...lol! As I type, poor John has decided to go "skate off some anger"....lmao. I guess I had better stop sending his girlfriend the goofiest pics of him! Nah...She needs to know what she is getting in to!
Well..I need to announce my new Creative Team! You must check out the So Tell Me Your Story blog. This is a super opportunity to scrap about the most important person in your life...YOU!!!! I am totally adamant about letting my future generations know all about me. I want them to know what I was thinking and dreaming of. I have so many heritage photos that I wish I knew more about the person. Come check it out!!!!
On to a few (oh, who am I kidding! I didn't post the past couple of days) layouts! Beware..this will be a long one!

What a great Friday!

Hey all! What a great Friday I have had! Got my butt up this morning and hit some of the yard sales in town. I was able to pick up some mroe birdhouses to alter and 4 pairs of jeans for me! If I have to work around hot plastic and grease, then I will continue to find my clothes at yard sales. Each pair was 50 cents and in perfect condition! I am making a promise to myself to alter these birdhouses!!!

Later in the afternoon, Roger and I got perttied up and went to the theater. We seen Hellboy II and may I say what a great movie it was! I highly recommend it!!! Of course, we are fans of that genre of movies.

And I have done a few LOs for the challenges over at Sweet Shoppe Designs!
